WEST DOGS GROUP is a community founded in 2023 within a unit that deploys search-and-rescue dogs in special operations.

It was created around the idea of rethinking the role of the service dog.

We promote the idea that a service dog is not just an animal, nor is it merely a piece of equipment. 

It is a partner, a combat unit that, together with a human, carries out missions, undergoes training, works in dangerous conditions, and risks its own life.

Our mission is to ensure that this understanding becomes an integral part of modern military culture and society.

They search for explosives, locate people, assist in search-and-rescue operations, guard facilities, and help with combat and special missions.

That is precisely why we want to change this mindset: a service dog is not “property.” It is a member of the team.

Our goal is to integrate this understanding into our culture.

WEST DOGS GROUP is working to ensure that military dogs become an integral part of military culture and public life.

We provide information about their training, equipment, tactical medicine, and history.

One of WEST DOGS GROUP’s key areas of focus is the development of a culture of tactical medicine for service and military dogs.

We founded and are developing a program dedicated to K9 tactical medicine based on the MARCH algorithm of the TSSC committee, so that knowledge about providing first aid to service dogs becomes accessible to handlers, military personnel, dog trainers, and everyone who works alongside K9s.
