"Poswiatowska's poetry is as much a praise of existence as it is an exploration of dying," is how literary critic Bartosz Suwiński described the Polish poet's work.
Halyna Posviatovska is an author who is unfairly little known in Ukraine. Throughout her short life, she struggled with illness, which did not prevent her from traveling, being friends with Nobel Prize laureate Wisława Szymborska, and studying in America at the college where Sylvia Plath had studied a few years earlier. But most importantly, nothing could prevent Posviatovska from boldly entering the history of literature. She was called a chthonic poetess, because she felt the monstrosity of the world and transformed it into subtle and tragic poetry.
