A full-sized monument was installed by the Azovstal Families Association on Sofia Square in Kyiv for the first anniversary of the "evacuation into captivity" of the Mariupol garrison in 2023.
It was meant to disappear on the day the last defender of Azovstal returned home — thus completing its story. But by the fourth anniversary of the captivity, small concrete replicas of it appeared.
The idea is for these hands to live on city streets — organically fitting into the space, becoming new bas-reliefs on buildings, and a quiet reminder of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
On the walls of Kyiv, Rome, London, or any other city where they are taken.
On the mounting side of the sculpture, there is also a small opening for a note. Inside, you can leave a dream, a name, a personal message, or words you want to keep inside forever — and seal them along with the object itself.
Each sculpture comes with a small mounting kit, as we want these objects to become part of the urban environment and continue to live beyond private spaces.
Understanding the demand and desire of people to support and extend this idea in their cities, we are making a limited number of sculptures available for purchase on the website and in the physical space of Mojave.
