In the Scandinavian sagas, longships are described as extremely elegant ships decorated with a dragon's head, which were used for war and raids. On the foam, the longship is inscribed with the Teyvaz rune. The name of the rune means "god" or "lord". It corresponds to the god Tyr himself - the god of law, justice, war, victories.
