The "precatastrophe" of 1914-1918 became the epicenter of a cycle of armed conflicts that began in some parts of Europe in 1912 and lasted until 1923 and covered large areas. Militarized conflicts spread not only to Eastern and Central Europe, but also to Ireland, Asia Minor, and the Middle East. This little-studied post-war competition cost many lives and is, unfortunately, unfairly forgotten. "War during peace" is the leading theme of the collection of articles, which more thoroughly reveals the problems of para-militarism in the interwar period of the 20th century.
